We offer home learning packs for children who cannot attend the preschool. These home learning packs have a detailed instruction set which parents can follow. The resources required to do the home learning are provided in hard copy or electronically. The packs are provided routinely and each pack has a weekly roster of the activities the learner is to complete.
The resource that make up each pack are as follows:
– Detailed instruction set
– Worksheets/workbooks
– Art activities
– Physical exercise activities.
– Video tutorials and songs.
Each week, the learner should progress with her mathematics, language, cultural and theme work, practical life activities, and art. The weekly timetable addresses each of the learning areas.
Parents/Caregivers who wish to register for this option of home learning would need to undertake that they are prepared to follow the work packages. The school staff are available to offer guidance to the parent and thus the parent school and parent work as a team.
The home learning is also assessment based which means that the work is evaluated by an educational practitioner.
At Little People’s Montessori we follow the goal of providing proof of learning. In terms of home learning, this goal is also a requirement. All the learner’s work is to be kept and and dated so the child’s progress can be evaluated at regular intervals.
